Brainspotting
My Brainspotting Journey began in 2017. I saw improvement in my emotional regulation, sleep, and focus in just a handful of sessions. Challenges that were impossible to talk about without sob-choking overwhelm or shut-down in traditional talk therapy were still tender, but now I could think about them without getting swept away. My body’s previous strong reaction, my black-and-white story, and looping rumination softened in areas I didn’t expect. Inspired by these personal transformations, I completed Level 1 Brainspotting training in Denver, Colorado, in 2018, followed by Level 2 in 2021. I now integrate this gentle, body-led modality into my practice to support clients on healing deep, underlying traumas held by their body.
Benefits of Brainspotting:
Alleviation of anxiety and depression symptoms
Enhanced focus and concentration
Improved emotional regulation
Decreased hypervigilance, distraction and trauma responses
Reduction in stress-related physical discomfort
Better sleep quality
Heightened self-awareness
Increased capacity for positive experiences
Integration of self-worth and positive self-esteem values
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a somatic (body-based) therapy that helps process and release stored trauma, anxiety, and emotional distress at a deep, neurological level. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which primarily engages the cerebral cortex (the thinking part of the brain), Brainspotting directly accesses the midbrain and limbic system—the areas responsible for emotions, memory, and survival responses like fight, flight, freeze, and fawn.
This therapy works by identifying the physical sensations connected to emotional or psychological struggles. Through a personalized protocol, we focus your eye gaze on specific points that correspond to areas of stored trauma or activation in the brain. By doing so, Brainspotting helps the nervous system process and release these experiences without needing to overanalyze or verbally relive them. This can lead to profound shifts in emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.
Because Brainspotting engages the body’s innate healing ability, it can be especially effective for those who feel stuck in talk therapy or find that intellectual understanding alone hasn’t led to deeper healing. This gentle yet powerful approach allows the brain and body to reorganize and integrate experiences, making space for clarity, calm, and a renewed sense of self.
Brainspotting is a powerful resourcing tool that helps integrate core concepts like self-worth, acceptance, and the ability to fully experience positive sensations in the body.
What Clients are saying:
After Brainspotting, it’s like my brain is more connected to what’s actually happening. I can remember things without feeling panicked. The memories that used to feel too intense now feel more neutral, like it’s finally over and I can move on.

With talk therapy, I always felt like I was trying to figure things out. With Brainspotting, I don’t have to force anything. My mind and body just know what to do, and I know how to work with them.

I’m surprised by how subtle yet powerful this process is. Because of these sessions, my baseline has become peaceful. I feel more like myself than I have in a long time, and it felt like I didn’t have to effort my way to these results.

I offer Brainspotting sessions both in-person at my Boulder, Colorado office and virtually for clients across the state. This flexibility ensures you can engage in therapy from the comfort of your home or in a serene office environment.
